Traffic Control Plans

Temporary 30 km/h speed limit with roadwork and traffic cones on a suburban street.

What It Is

A Traffic Control Plan (TCP) is a detailed drawing and sequence showing how traffic will be protected, redirected, and controlled during construction activities that affect the public right-of-way.

Why It Matters

Austin and TxDOT require compliant TCPs for permits when work impacts streets, sidewalks, bike lanes, or vehicular access. Poor TCPs lead to repeated comments, delays, and potential safety issues.

What We Offer

  • City & TxDOT Standards Compliance
TCPs developed to meet Austin Public Works and Texas MUTCD criteria.

  • Permit-Ready Plans
Plans formatted and annotated for first-pass acceptance by reviewers.

  • Phasing & Sequencing
Clear traffic phasing for construction staging and MOT (Maintenance of Traffic).

Austin Code & Standards

  • City of Austin Public Works Design Criteria

  • TxDOT Traffic Control Standards

Client Outcomes

  • Reduced review cycles

  • Safer staging and construction traffic sequences

  • Faster right-of-way approvals
